هدف البحث تعرف أثر استخدام استراتيجية IMPROVE ما وراء المعرفية في تدريس وحدة المضلعات بمقرر الرياضيات بالصف الأول المتوسط على التحصيل والوعي بما وراء المعرفة الرياضية، والعلاقة الارتباطية بين التحصيل والوعي بما وراء المعرفة الرياضية لدى عينة البحث بمدينة نجران.ولتحقيق ذلک تم إعداد اختبار تحصيلي في وحدة المضلعات  ومقياس الوعي بما وراء المعرفة الرياضية، ودليل المعلم لتدريس وحدة المضلعات وفق استراتيجية IMPROVE، وأوراق عمل الطلاب لدراسة الوحدة وفق الاستراتيجية المستخدمة، کما تم اختيار عينة البحث وقوامها )69( طالباً من طلاب الصف الأول المتوسط بمدرسة العريسة المتوسطة بمدينة نجران تم تقسيمهم إلى مجموعتين ضابطة (32 طالبا) وتجريبية (37 طالبا). وأظهرت النتائج فعالية استراتيجية IMPROVE لتدريس الرياضيات في تنمية التحصيل والوعي بما وراء المعرفة الرياضية، کما وُجدت علاقة ارتباطية دالة موجبة بين التحصيل والوعي بما وراء المعرفة الرياضية لدى عينة البحث.
The present study aims to identify the effect of using IMPROVE strategy for teaching the unit of “Polygons”, middle first grade, on achievement and awareness of Metacognitive Mathematics among the participants, and the correlation between academic achievement and awareness among the participants.To achieve the study objectives, a set of tools have been utilized, including Achievement Test, Scale of Metacognitive Mathematics Awareness, Teacher's Guide for teaching the unit of “Polygons” according IMPROVE strategy and Activities Notebook. The sample consisted of (69) students selected from the middle first grade, Alauraysa School, who were divided into two groups: the control group (32 students) and the experimental one (37 students).The results showed the effectiveness of IMPROVE strategy for the teaching of mathematics in the development of academic achievement and metacognitive awareness, and there were a positive significant correlation between achievement and metacognitive mathematics awareness among the participants
